Montessori Meets the Science of Reading
Course Overview
In this 7-hour asynchronous professional learning experience, Montessori educators explore the intersection of cognitive science, social justice, and Montessori practice. Literacy as Liberation equips guides, leaders, and specialists to connect the Science of Reading with Montessori’s whole-child philosophy—balancing empirical evidence with equity and human dignity.
Across seven integrated modules, participants investigate the mechanics of reading development and the moral purpose of literacy. Each lesson blends scholarly insight, classroom application, and reflection, culminating in a personalized Literacy Action Plan ready for implementation.
