What is in each seminar

Six weeks of real work, not a unit plan.

Three afternoons per week

Each seminar specifies real-work placement at a partner site: a farm, a housing organization, a care setting, a newsroom. The curriculum is what happens when adolescents do real work alongside adults who are doing it.

Two seminar mornings per week

Structured academic content aligned to the real work. Science and ethics, not a worksheet. Designed to be taught by a guide who is also learning alongside the adolescent.

Adult hiring criteria

Each occupation seminar includes the criteria for hiring the adult guide who will run it. Not a job description. A specification for who this person needs to be.

Reflection protocol

Structured individual and group reflection built into every seminar week. Because occupation without reflection is just a job placement, not Erdkinder.

Before you purchase

The Self-Construction bundle includes seminars on Mental Health and Sexuality. These require a counselor or therapist available to students, a clear referral pathway, family communication, and an opt-out option. The Occupations bundle requires adult capacity for occupation-based work at partner sites. Please confirm your school has this infrastructure before purchasing.
